Wanderers of the Wastes
A turn-based singleplayer card game based around team mechanics and unique decks.

What is Wanderers of the Wastes?
This was my first individual project, made in Unreal Engine 5: an attempt at a team-based singleplayer card game. The depicted visual assets were mostly taken from the UE Asset Store, my own work is more on the programming and design fronts.
What role(s) did I serve on the project?
I was a solo developer for the game, and the game was made over approximately ten weeks of development time.
The gameplay of Wanderers of the Wastes
The game has six different characters, each with their own unique deck of cards. The player selects two of them upon entering a level, and they both have their own health totals, hands, and turns, working together against a single opponent. Characters draw a card at the start of each turn, and some cards also require mana to produce, which can be produced by other cards.
The playable characters of Wanderers of the Wastes
Ark: Ark is the protagonist of the game, having a straightforward deck that fill any role it needs to in terms of dealing damage and generating mana.
Elisa: The secondary protagonist, using a deck more focused on support and healing. She offers easy utility with few strings attached.
Equinox: A volatile character based on deep-drawing into her own deck in hopes of drawing her one rare card that can turn the battle around instantly.
Flambel: A glass cannon based around getting as many cards in his hand as possible before unleashing all of them in one strike.
Myriad: A golem made of countless spirits who has the highest health total in the game but uses it as a sort of secondary resource for his stronger attacks.
Dredge: A ghostly marksman who focuses on high-risk, high-reward plays that can deal devastating damage in exchange for severe drawbacks.
